Welcome to Eureka Springs, Arkansas!

I'm Randy Woodward, The Sandman.  

​In the 1970's, I created sand sculpture and sold my kits and art at Arts and Craft shows in the Midwest. 

As the popularity grew, so did the market and we successfully sold kits to TG&Y and Target stores all over the Midwest.

 

In 1977, a friend and I created a chain of stain glass studios then a stain glass factory. I was the foreman of the hot end of the glass factory. I poured sheets of hot molten glass through a set of stainless steel rollers, and created a beautiful piece of Stain glass roughly 3' x 4', only a few of us men on the hot end, were fortunate enough to see. It was the most beautiful natural creative designs I had ever seen! 

 

Then I figured out a way to create something that looks like that hot molten glass from the glass plant.

I call it silica and glass, a new art form! Each one is original and totally unique. The overall design can be an abstract, are a very realistic landscape.

 

With over 40 years in the art world, 30 of those years spent managing a very large and successful Art Gallery in downtown Eureka Springs, Arkansas, I learned a lot about art and the happiness it brings to people.
